New Refill Zone in Southsea

From this week, Wild Thyme Wholefoods on Palmerston Road have given over part of their shop to a refill station.

You can now take in your own container (or use a paper bag available in store) to purchase a variety of organic nuts, pulses, dried fruit, oats, seeds and pasta.

They also have a liquid refill area which includes things like shampoo, conditioner, handwash, laundry liquid and more.

This is just one of many of the things that they do to reduce our plastic consumption. Here's a snapshot:

  • all their takeaway packaging is compostable vegware - cups, straws, cutlery, cake boxes etc.

  • they do not sell any bottled water in plastic bottles. It's all glass or veg based.

  • they sell keep cups and metal straws.

  • they will happily refill your water bottle if you need a top up when out and about.

  • they have a range of plastic free items such as: shampoo bars, loose soaps, loose organic fruit and veg, cotton buds, tampons etc.

Great work and thanks to all involved in the

Wild Thyme Wholefoods Co-operative.

And Happy 3rd Birthday for this weekend!
